Compared to the original EOS 6D, its dimensions are smaller. The reduction in size brings disappointing news to existing EOS 6D customers in that the older BG-E13 battery grip is no longer compatible. It isn’t weather-sealed like the EOS 5D Mark IV either.
2 x Pentax mx cameras and bundle of lenses etc This lot contains 2 Pentax mx cameras with cases and straps and various lenses, cap protector, old camera bag all that you can see in the picture. Both cameras light meters stay on when the button is released so the battery must be removed or it goes flat very quickly. I looked at fixing this on the one camera and took it apart slightly, I was unable to fix it or put it back together but all the bits are still there so it can be put back together. The other camera works fine but needs a new battery and has the battery issue as mentioned already. Any questions please ask. I can look at splitting the lot if required. The whole lot weighs 3.4kg unpackaged.
Bridging the gap between compact cameras and DSLRs are mirrorless cameras, also referred to as compact system cameras (CSC). Expect these types to offer an excellent balance of convenience and image quality, though at the very top end we’re beginning to see mirrorless cameras match or even exceed rival DSLRs. Sony’s full-frame A7-series is a good example, with the Sony Alpha 7R III being the latest offering.
DSLRs generally have greater cost, size, and weight. They also have louder operation, due to the SLR mirror mechanism. Sony’s fixed mirror design manages to avoid this problem. However, that design has the disadvantage that some of the light received from the lens is diverted by the mirror and thus the image sensor receives about 30% less light compared with other DSLR designs.
Native sensitivity, for example, ranges from ISO 100 to 102,400. By comparison the Canon 800D offers a top (extended) setting of ISO 51,200 while the Nikon D5600 has a top setting of ISO 25,600. Likewise, the K-70 has a top shutter speed of 1/6000sec, whereas both the 800D and D5600 max out at 1/4000sec.
The DSLR market is dominated by Japanese companies and the top five manufacturers are Japanese: Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, and Sony. Other manufacturers of DSLRs include Mamiya, Sigma, Leica (German), and Hasselblad Canon and Nikon, digital SLRs are their biggest source of profits. For Canon, their DSLRs brought in four times the profits from compact digital cameras, while Nikon earned more from DSLRs and lenses than with any other product. Olympus and Panasonic have since exited the DSLR market and now focus on producing mirrorless cameras.

DSLR or Digital SLR (single lens reflex) cameras are aimed at serious photographers and the camera bodies and interchangeable lenses are often sold separately. Those who already own 35mm SLR lenses may want to look for a compatible DSLR body. To ensure that the lenses behave the same as they did with a 35mm SLR, look for digital SLR with a full-frame sensor. A semi-pro DSLR camera costs from about $500 to $3,000 or more, including a single lens. For more information about the cost of lenses see How Much Do Camera Lenses Cost. A DSLR offers all the features and creative control of a traditional 35mm SLR but the ease and convenience of the digital format. Expect a DSLR to offer a selection of lenses with different focal lengths, from wide angle to telephoto, as well as features such as multiple frames per second shooting, ideal for capturing fast moving subjects. A good example of a DSLR is the Nikon D60, a 10.2MP camera that, equipped with an AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55mm lens, costs about $600-$650.
The lens of a camera captures the light from the subject and brings it to a focus on the sensor. The design and manufacture of the lens is critical to the quality of the photograph being taken. The technological revolution in camera design in the 19th century revolutionized optical glass manufacture and lens design with great benefits for modern lens manufacture in a wide range of optical instruments from reading glasses to microscopes. Pioneers included Zeiss and Leitz.
