The majority of digital SLR cameras have camera lenses and filters that can be changed allowing you to use the best lenses to suit what you’re capturing and the quality of the image. Types of lenses vary but include wide angle, telephoto, and macro to standard.
Canon, Nikon and Pentax have all developed digital SLR cameras (DSLRs) using the same lens mounts as on their respective film SLR cameras. Konica Minolta did the same, but in 2006 sold their camera technology to Sony, which built DSLRs based on the Minolta lens mount before abandoning the technology in favor of cameras built around a semi-transparent fixed mirror. Samsung builds DSLRs based on the Pentax lens mount. Olympus, on the other hand, chose to create a new digital-only Four Thirds System SLR standard, adopted later by Panasonic and Leica.
Most of us only look at the resolution/ the pixel count while buying a camera. Although this is an important feature, there are various other aspects that you need to consider. Some of these are the pixel size, sensor size, focal length, aperture size among others. Each of these determines the clarity of the photo by controlling light.
In response to the convenience and flexibility of smartphone cameras, some manufacturers produced “smart” digital cameras that combine features of traditional cameras with those of a smartphone. In 2012, Nikon and Samsung released the Coolpix S800c and Galaxy Camera, the first two digital cameras to run the Android operating system. Since this software platform is used in many smartphones, they can integrate with services (such as e-mail attachments, social networks and photo sharing sites) as smartphones do, and use other Android-compatible software as well.

Many lenses are mountable, “diaphragm-and-meter-compatible”, on modern DSLRs and on older film SLRs that use the same lens mount. However, when lenses designed for 35 mm film or equivalently sized digital image sensors are used on DSLRs with smaller sized sensors, the image is effectively cropped and the lens appears to have a longer focal length than its stated focal length. Most DSLR manufacturers have introduced lines of lenses with image circles optimised for the smaller sensors and focal lengths equivalent to those generally offered for existing 35 mm mount DSLRs, mostly in the wide angle range. These lenses tend not to be completely compatible with full frame sensors or 35 mm film because of the smaller imaging circle and, with some Canon EF-S lenses, interfere with the reflex mirrors on full-frame bodies.
Its 12MP BSI CMOS sensor teams up with a TruePic VIII processor to provide a wide sensitivity range (ISO 100-12,800), while the 4x optical zoom is equivalent to 25-100mm and boasts a variable f/2-4.9 aperture.
The best DSLR cameras don’t just produce the best pictures of any type of camera, they also open up the door to more creative photography, with all controls for focus, aperture, shutter speed, ISO and white balance at your fingertips. They give you the choice of trusting the camera’s automatic settings or taking full manual control when you need it.

While it should be noted that Canon’s EF-S lenses will not fit the EOS 6D, buyers who already own or are willing to upgrade to the lenses to match their new camera body will find themselves with a very capable camera, offering full-frame quality at an affordable price.
The D850’s 153-point Multi-CAM 20K autofocus system has also been lifted directly from the D500 and D5. It’s a proven AF module that’s both fast and accurate thanks in part to the inclusion of 99 cross-type AF points. The central AF point is also sensitive down to -4EV, which should ensure accurate focus even when light is in short supply. Elsewhere, the D850 also becomes the first Nikon DSLR to support 4K video capture at up to 30fps, with separate microphone and headphone inputs located on the side of the camera.
2 x Pentax mx cameras and bundle of lenses etc This lot contains 2 Pentax mx cameras with cases and straps and various lenses, cap protector, old camera bag all that you can see in the picture. Both cameras light meters stay on when the button is released so the battery must be removed or it goes flat very quickly. I looked at fixing this on the one camera and took it apart slightly, I was unable to fix it or put it back together but all the bits are still there so it can be put back together. The other camera works fine but needs a new battery and has the battery issue as mentioned already. Any questions please ask. I can look at splitting the lot if required. The whole lot weighs 3.4kg unpackaged.

Due to the optical properties of photographic lenses, only objects within a limited range of distances from the camera will be reproduced clearly. The process of adjusting this range is known as changing the camera’s focus. There are various ways of focusing a camera accurately. The simplest cameras have fixed focus and use a small aperture and wide-angle lens to ensure that everything within a certain range of distance from the lens, usually around 3 metres (10 ft) to infinity, is in reasonable focus. Fixed focus cameras are usually inexpensive types, such as single-use cameras. The camera can also have a limited focusing range or scale-focus that is indicated on the camera body. The user will guess or calculate the distance to the subject and adjust the focus accordingly. On some cameras this is indicated by symbols (head-and-shoulders; two people standing upright; one tree; mountains).
Action cams are perfect for living life on the edge. They typically feature waterproofing and shock proofing and can be mounted to optional accessories such as chest harnesses and head straps to capture footage from any angle.

The D810 is a hefty, impressive full-frame DSLR that’s quite a bit cheaper than the Canon EOS 5D Mk IV because it’s been around for over two years now – but it still deserves to be part of our round-up. Its 36.3-megapixel sensor is detailed and precise, delivering outstanding image quality. It doesn’t shoot 4K video, only 1080P and its continuous shooting speed isn’t a match for some, but these are the downsides – if you don’t need these features then this is a highly impressive camera, ideal for hobbyists and experts. Price is for camera body only.
For the first time in five years, Adobe is raising the price of some Creative Cloud subscription packages. The good news for photographers: The $10/month CC Photography plan that includes Photoshop CC, Lightroom CC, and Lightroom Classic CC will stay the same.
The choice of method for a given capture is determined largely by the subject matter. It is usually inappropriate to attempt to capture a subject that moves with anything but a single-shot system. However, the higher color fidelity and larger file sizes and resolutions available with multi-shot and scanning backs make them attractive for commercial photographers working with stationary subjects and large-format photographs.[original research?]
Standing for digital single-lens reflex camera, these digital cameras are the most popular type of interchangeable lens camera, where users can add improved lenses to get the best photos. While smartphone cameras and point and shoots have improved significantly over the years, nothing can quite match the quality you get from a proper digital camera.
These in-car digital camcorders are designed to be mounted on the windscreen and record footage whilst you drive. They are becoming more popular to capture supporting evidence in the event of an accident (check your insurance provider for details).
A digital single-lens reflex camera (also called a digital SLR or DSLR) is a digital camera that combines the optics and the mechanisms of a single-lens reflex camera with a digital imaging sensor, as opposed to photographic film. The reflex design scheme is the primary difference between a DSLR and other digital cameras. In the reflex design, light travels through the lens, then to a mirror that alternates to send the image to either the viewfinder or the image sensor. The traditional alternative would be to have a viewfinder with its own lens, hence the term “single lens” for this design. By using only one lens, the viewfinder of a DSLR presents an image that will not differ substantially from what is captured by the camera’s sensor. A DSLR differs from non-reflex single-lens digital cameras in that the viewfinder presents a direct optical view through the lens, rather than being captured by the camera’s image sensor and displayed by a digital screen.
While full-frame sensors may be preferred by professionals and enthusiasts alike, it could be considered overkill for beginners or intermediate photographers – you can still get high-quality shots from an APS-C sensor.
Its huge zoom range will cover almost any subject, from sweeping landscapes to sports and wildlife, while its remarkable autofocus and continuous shooting abilities make it a far better choice for photographing moving subjects than any previous bridge camera.
